Montana State - From the start

Written by the anonymous chronicler.

The Start - Self Governance.

In the chaotic years following the Civil War, a group of disillusioned veterans, freedmen, and frontier dreamers crossed the Missouri and claimed the untamed territory that would become Montana State. Rejecting both federal oversight and the lingering shadows of Southern plantation rule, they declared self-governance under the banner of "Midland." Slavery was never formally abolished here by distant lawmakers — it simply withered away as men and women of all colors toiled side by side under the harsh sun, bound not by chains but by the shared struggle against the land itself.

1895

By 1895, most merchants and workers alike were drawn away from the state, due to the dangers that kept worsening ever since the foundation of Midland, and as such, criminals, bandits, seekers of fortune by unconventional means, have found Midland as the perfect place to exploit for their own gain.

Although, it seems this land was not just the home of those who sought fortune, but psychopaths too. Murderers, Serial Killers and people who cant see right from wrong. I believe this is owing to the fact these lands never had a very evolved organ of justice, but what do I know. Maybe we dont need rule to have a bustling society.

1899

By 1899 most of the towns were evacuated by what little law enforcement remained, leaving most settlements in turmoil. The only two establishments left with any sort of resistance are Strawberry and Blackwater.

While not even this little corner of heaven seems to have a lot of potential in succeeding against the madmen marauding these lands, it seems the locals and travelers that stop by this place are not the faintest of hearts, for their hopes are high and their ambitions higher.

Bandits

Now, the eldest recorded band of murderers recorded in these parts, dating back all the waY to the early 1800s would be the LEMOYNE RAIDERS, under whom Saint Denis and Rhodes have fallen. These remnants and veterans of the independence war are plagued by a bitter desire for revenge against the union.

And amidst this infestation are found the Del Lobo and the ODriscolls, both gangs of outlaws, willing to do the most depraved of actions in search for fortune, as mentioned earlier. Then you have nightmares... The Murfree Brood and, what I believe to be the last nail in the coffin of our fine state, the Skinner brothers. I couldnt tell you more about these folk if I wanted to, for their rampant homicide is senseless and never-ending...
